Big Chick Energy Presents: Big Chick Lethargy?!

The Chicks have lost their ENERGY! What could have stolen it? Capitalism? People? Low iron? An all-consuming bullet journal that reminds you that, no matter what you do, you’re never going to be perfect?!?! One thing’s for sure, The Chicks are gonna fight to get from lethargy to energy! So clap and laugh for us in our brand new 2025 sketch revue, so we don’t fade away and die! …But otherwise we’re fine, how are you?

Big Chick Energy (BCE) is an all-woman comedy troupe that infuses their bubbly personalities into high energy sketch and improv shows. These five Chicks from Toronto and Hamilton love creating comedy from a place of joy to offer their audiences an uplifting experience – but they don’t shy away from a good fart joke either! At a BCE show you can expect to see silly and satirical sketches through an effervescent feminist lens that clucks the status quo, ruffles a few feathers, and features an egg shaker or two.

In 2024, the Chicks were official selections in TOSketchfest, Newfoundland & Labrador Sketch Fest, and performed sold-out shows at Hamilton Fringe. BCE is the proud recipient of TOSketchfest’s 2023 Producers’ Pick Award. Individually they are Alicia Carrick, Sam Sexton, Julia Jones, Emily Decloux and Jo Anne Tacorda.

We are SO FRICKIN’ CHICKIN’ EXCITED to share that we have been awarded a grant from The Ontario Arts Council, for our ART! As part of the Toronto Sketchfest recommender program, we have been granted funds to produce our upcoming show “Big Chick Energy Presents: Big Chick Lethargy?!” Which will hatch in the Incubator space in The Theatre Centre  at Toronto Sketchfest on Saturday March 8 at 9pm. We are so grateful for this opportunity and for the support of our comedy from our various local MPPs!
