TORONTO, ON, March 2, 2023 – Big Chick Energy Sketch is excited to announce they will perform as part of the Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival on March 9th and 10th at The Theatre Centre, BMO Incubator Space. This femme forward comedy troupe oozes with relaxed confidence as they combine their absurd sensibilities with irreverent and relatable themes. Their light-hearted, down right silly, and musically delightful show will keep audiences laughing and riding the Big Chick Energy high all the way home! The Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival (TOsketchfest) returns March 8 – 19, 2023 for the 18th Annual Festival taking place at The Theatre Centre and Comedy Bar Bloor in Toronto.

“Our show is a joyful escape for everyone, with a heavy nod towards millennial-aged folks who may be dealing with the things we’re dealing with,” says Emily Milling, one of five writer-performers that make up the comedy troupe. “Like navigating the workplace, trying to get pregnant, or grappling with fast-fashion.”

Big Chick Energy, who first met at the Second City Training Centre, formed in late 2019 and had their first live show just weeks before the pandemic lockdown in 2020. Despite the challenges of isolated comedy, all five members committed to nurturing and growing Big Chick Energy and are delighted to return to the stage with performances this year, including two shows at the Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival.

About Big Chick Energy:

Big Chick Energy (BCE) is an all-woman troupe based in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area that creates positive, gut-busting comedy that explores and challenges social structures through a feminist, satirical and absurdist lens.
