Who says you’ve got to have it all figured out by 30? 35? 40? The Chicks definitely didn’t get that memo.
Big Chick Energy invites you to come along as they stumble headfirst into the graceful mess of becoming; balancing societal expectations and sanity in a world that feels like it’s spiraling.
Told in their signature blend of sketch comedy and song, the Chicks take on the many “eras” of womanhood: chasing confidence, losing it, rebuilding it, and holding on to relationships as everything else shifts.
Raging Gracefully is a celebration of taking up space, even if you’re still figuring out how to stand in it. Let’s rage against the machine together, gracefully!
This performance features amazing understudy Taryn Crankshaw in the roles Alicia Carrick plays.
Taryn Crankshaw
Taryn (she/her) is a Toronto based actress and writer. A proud graduate of Sheridan College, McMaster University, and the Second City Conservatory, she has appeared on series such as “The Weather Files” (Blue Ant Media), in various commercials, onstage in “We Are Never, Ever, Ever Getting Back to Normal…” (SCTC) and the short film, “WORM”. She was named one of the “Top 10 Horror Screenwriters to Watch in 2025” by “Killer Shorts”. Her screenplay, “Big Day” reached the Top 15% of all Academy Nicholls Fellowship entries (2023) and was named Grand Prize Winner of the Hamilton Film Festival’s Screenplay Competition (2022). She currently works at the Toronto International Film Festival, and previously for Hot Docs and ImagineNATIVE. Outside of acting and writing, she loves musical theatre, the Oscars, travelling, and obsessing over her family’s cat, Mr. Selfridge.
